“Coordination is a big part of speed development”
Training and refining the motor recruitment pattern to enhance the sport-specific performance demand
At Goldenform Sport and fitness we are committed to developing the complete athlete no matter the sport or skill level. Through our multi-sport program we work with football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey and lacrosse etc. We work to develop programs that are specifically aimed at improving skill necessary to becoming a better all around athlete.
Central to our program focus is making athletes fitter through proper acceleration development by improving the athlete’s ability to run at speed. Our focus is to develop this ability within the context of their individual sport. We work to improve agility and the athlete’s ability to change direction quickly while maintaining proper posture and center of gravity.
We know proper alignment of the spine and core stability are essential for effective limb mobility, So we conduct different cutting edge sprint drills, general strength and plyometrics exercises geared towards improve efficiencies and ground contact mechanics in order to optimize speed.
Athletes will learn to naturally move their feet/body at a faster pace while still maintaining proper head and neck alignment, yielding a faster turn over and a decreased chance of injury related to poor running mechanics.
Improving the technical components of sprinting is important within the context of the sport and can give athletes the advantage over their opponents.
